My last wedding of 2014 was nothing short of beautiful! This super sweet couple said I do at Southern Waters Events in North Fort Myers Florida on December 27th. Surrounded by so much love and laughter, I caught myself unable to stop smiling! And what a party!! Let it be said, The Pinera and Turcios families know how to throw a party!!! While they wait ever so patiently for me to finalize their gallery, here is a little peek at their day! Enjoy!
In honor of Valentine's Day, I have a truly beautiful Love Story to share. The day every little girl dreams of, her wedding day. The fairytale. A perfect Princess; gown and all, will marry her knight in shinning armor. All of this was true for Amanda and Cody on March 23 2013. And Cody would truly prove to be her knight. Right there to rescue her. Childhood friends that, over time, fell in love. Their happily ever after was just beginning.
Amanda and Cody's wedding day was pure perfection. The bride looked stunning. Her groom's face said more than words ever could of his love for her. It was so wonderful to be a part of such a special day. Family and Friends celebrated the couple well into the night. And as my second shooter, Logan and I left for the evening, we dispersed with hugs and well wishes.
Then the call came to me at 7am the next morning.
Sometime in the early morning hours, Cody had awoken in their honeymoon suite to Amanda unresponsive. His beautiful, blushing bride was slipping away. Immediately he called 911 and began to administer CPR.
Doctors later would inform the family that Amanda had suffered Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy, or in simple terms "broken heart syndrome". Everyone was on pins and needles. How could a perfectly healthy 27-year-old woman, who had just celebrated the most wonderful day of her life suffer such an attack? Amanda spent 4 days in the hospital in a coma. Doctor's were unsure what or how she would be affected once she awoke. Cody, diligently stayed by her side. Holding her hand, talking to her. When Amanda did awake, she sat up talked with Cody and then realized, he was wearing his wedding band. Then everyone learned what the outcome of the attack had been.
Amanda had no memory of her wedding. None at all.
For the past 10 months, Amanda has been trying to gain bits a pieces of her day back. Her photos from the day have been used in her therapy sessions. And while all this has been going on, she's just been thriving. She and Cody are possibly closer and happier now than before. It took such a freak accident but they had the chance to look at what they could have lost, right in the eye, and they have bonded stronger because of it.
Now - this next part is the awesome sauce to such a beautiful Love Story.
This wonderful, sweet couple who have overcome so much, well they were gifted the greatest gift ever. Inside Edition threw them a second wedding!!!! They are an exceptional couple and I am so happy for the two of them that they have been gifted not only this second chance at a wedding, but at a second chance at Love, and Life, and Happily Ever After!
Please enjoy this gallery of images from their original "I do." Many many years of blessings and joy you two!!!
* I feel compelled to write a response to some of the Media Outlets that have run Amanda + Cody's story and the individuals who have responded on these public platforms. To the Media: make sure that as you report the story you do it accurately. This family has been through so much already. To the Individuals: Those of you who have gone out of your way to slander the character of a woman you do not know; SHAME ON YOU. I pray you never suffer a tragic event in your life that is unexplainable. That you never have to go through what this family has only to then see the character of their loved one in question. Some of you in particular have more OPINION than Common Sense. You are not medical professionals. - Brooke

Kicking off the 2014 Studio Calendar is this super sweet couple. Maria + Ashton are planning on having the wedding of their dreams this summer, and this session was just the start of some new moments for them. Maria really wanted to have some fun and for the session to be casual. She opted to have the session at one of our gorgeous local beaches, the Naples Beach. We started the session at the Naples Pier and then traveled a bit north for some more images in the downtown area. The light was gorgeous! This couple was so much fun and I look forward to their wedding in August!
Oh I have a beauty for today!! A gorgeous neutral palette, amazing and relaxed outdoor ceremony, and honestly, two of the sweetest people you'll ever meet! Bri + Zach's intimate nuptials are like taking a deep breath of fresh air! I instantly am calm when looking at these. From the ombre bride's maids dresses to the baby's breath bouquets. Every fine detail is simple yet stunning. Sentimental details surrounded this couple from the ring bearer carrying the rings on the Groom's childhood Bible, to the Jar of Love Notes Bri wrote to Zach for each day leading up to their wedding day! Guests were asked to choose seats and not sides for the ceremony and then joined the couple for an outdoor dinner of barbeque and salads. Southern staples of Sweet Tea and Lemonade were served as well. Instead of a traditional guest book, the couple opted for a few different items that will become heirlooms and works of art in their home. It was such a blessing to work with this amazing couple and I wish them lots of love and blessings for the future!
A beautiful rustic wedding is on the blog today! Full of cowboy hats and boots, with lots of dreamy light and two extra special people to be celebrating! My brother in law and his new wife! This wedding is extra special as it marks the gaining of a new sister for me! The added bonus - my new niece and nephew, Kelsey and Kaden! Seriously, hearing "Aunt Brooke" for the first time was amazing! OK, obviously, this wedding is not all about me. It is however one of many amazing blessings for my family. We are so overjoyed to have Aubrey and her babies in our lives. I have always shared a close relationship with my brother in law, and I love her to pieces for making him so happy, for challenging him, and mostly for completing him. Ryan is a better man for having Aubrey in his life, and I know that he will treasure her for how precious she is to him. A lot of prayers have been prayed by my in laws for the women that would one day marry their sons. I'd like to think that now, all those prayers have come full circle. With Aubrey and Ryan's wedding, our little core family is complete, and I know that our amazing extended family feels the same way too! We love big around here. Shew, okay enough tears, on to the goods.
Aubrey and Ryan's ceremony was held at Mid City Christian Center in Bonita Springs Florida where my brother in law is one of the teachers for the new satellite college. Directly following, the reception was held at Koreshan State Park and Historic Site. Lots of fabulous rustic details were abound from mason jars and burlap to South Florida lending it's own dose of Southern charm with dreamy light and Spanish Moss covered trees. Guests dined on barbeque and had their fill of sweet tea. Surrounded by their closest friends and family the couple danced the night away, even under a few falling stars.
Please enjoy this extra special post and gallery, and another big CONGRATULATIONS to my awesome brother in law and new sister in law!!! LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH!
Quick shout out to my amazing Second Shooter - Steph Jones. If not for her, I would have been an absolute mess at this wedding! I love you so much girly! My Wedding P.I.C.!
There is something special about living near the ocean. I get to meet some amazing couples that choose to branch out of their hometowns and have destination weddings. One such couple, is Amanda + Jay. Amanda and I spent close to a year in contact planning her big day. We finally met just a couple of days before to walk through the area and plan for her "I Do." Amanda + Jay chose to say "I Do." aboard the Sweet Liberty Catamaran in Naples, FL. A sunset cruise for two shared by the closest of family and friends. To tell you it was breath taking would be an understatement. How perfect to seclude yourselves for such an intimate occasion. This set of images gives me goosebumps. The amazing thing about photography is what is captured. Not the people, or the places, but the in between. The nuances, the emotions, that space between two people. I am not sure I have ever had the opportunity to capture such pure adoration from a Groom to his Bride as Jay to Amanda. Every single woman in the world deserves to be so treasured and adored the way he obviously does her.
A couple of the images are of their "first dance" on the boat, however it was impromptu and not what would have been Amanda's song of choice - a Ray LaMontagne song that I forget the name of now - but a sweet memory nonetheless as Jay sang to her the whole time. Honestly, the two of them are so sweet and humble and perfectly matched, I can only imagine there will be many many years of memories as sweet. Congratulations again you two!
And- Thank You to the crew of the Sweet Liberty in Naples, FL for being so amazing and creating such a special day for the couple! You guys are awesome!!!!!
Where to even begin. The Tiner family hold a special place in my heart. They welcomed me with open arms in May of 2013 when I photographed their daughter, Rebekah's wedding. To say I was over the moon when the email came to announce that Hollie was getting married in the fall would be an understatement. Hollie and I chatted through emails and a couple of phone calls to plan out the events of the day. I even got to chat a bit with her sweet Momma too! To share in yet another wedding with this amazing family was incredible! First and foremost - The Tiner's always provide me with gorgeous subjects! Hollie is a stunner and that new hubby of hers doesn't mess my lens up either! Added bonus - Hollie has this amazing style! She's super outdoorsy, I mean, she met the groom on a gator hunt!! ( Check out their cake topper) So, besides choosing a gorgeous location for her southern nuptials, the lovely and sprawling property of Southern Waters event venue in Fort Myers, Florida, she also had these amazing bouquets made by River District Florist that were pure Everglades Romance Perfection! They looked as though they could have been plucked right off the river bank.
I am so very honored to have been a small part of such a big day for Hollie + Steven. They are so sweet and the quiet strength they resonate even in images in awe inspiring. Congratulations and Thank You again for having BPP at your wedding! I know that Steph and I both truly enjoyed being there!
P.S. I'll be photographing Rebekah + Hollie's brother Luke and his fiance Courtney in May 2014 in Savannah, GA for their wedding at Forsyth Inn!
Rikki Lee + Ross rounded out the end of the Brooke Price Photography 2013 session calendar with their sun filled engagement session in Naples Florida. Their engagement session began at the Naples City Dock where we were joined by their fur baby, Tober. I don't get to work with a lot of animals for sessions, but I have to say, Tober was exceptionally behaved!
The weather for the session was BEAUTIFUL! Perfectly clear with gorgeous light all around. By only giving some gentle direction during the session, I was able to capture moments unique to Rikki Lee + Ross. Their true emotions and love for one another. After spending some time at the docks with Tober, it was time for just the couple and I to continue to our next location.
We rejoined at the Naples Pier, however, in December especially around the holidays it becomes a very crowded location. We opted to drive to a near by public access that ended up being a diamond in the rough as we were able to take advantage of a local residences gorgeous curb appeal!!
Engagement sessions are so rewarding because they offer up a less stressful schedule than the wedding day. Also, they give me a chance to work with a couple and get to know them more before the big day. It makes getting those "cozy" shots on the wedding day even easier as we have already worked together once and are more comfortable with one another.
An added bonus to an engagement session is the images mark the start of YOU. They are perfect to adorn the walls of your new home together, as well, you can create great keepsakes for your wedding too like Thank You cards and Reception Albums! When looking to invite guests and announce your upcoming wedding, these sweet moments make gorgeous Save The Dates!
Why not take a look at Rikki Lee + Ross' Save the Date Video created for the couples Destination Wedding Website by BPP!
Please enjoy some of my favorite images as well! Congratulations again Rikki Lee + Ross!
